You enjoy the thunder
when you’ve already
survived the lightning.
When you no longer
flinch at every crack in the sky, because you’ve stood
in worse storms and
came out wiser, stronger,
and still in your own shoes.
You enjoy the thunder
when you realise it’s just noise.
When it rattles
others but no longer shakes you.
When you’ve learned that not all storms come to destroy
some come to reveal.
You don’t chase the thunder.
You don’t fear it.
You let it roll…
because you’ve become
the calm it can’t touch.
