I bring a plant not to decorate the table,
but to remind us what
it means to grow in silence.
It speaks no words, yet listens deeply.
It judges no one,
yet absorbs what we release.
It asks for light,
yet gives back air.
It stays rooted calm,
enduring while the
world spins around it.
Where there is noise,
it brings stillness.
Where there is tension, it breathes.
Where there are people
trying to be right,
it simply reaches for the sun.
This plant is my witness.
To every conversation,
every disagreement,
every truth spoken.
It is my reminder:
that leadership need not shout,
and strength can come with
soft leaves and quiet soil.
So if you ask why I bring
a plant know that it is
here to grow what words cannot.
To hold space.
To clear air.
To be still when we are not.
And like me,
it is not here to impress
only to endure.
