I never thought I would end up living in Kuala Lumpur. For many years, it was just a place I passed through, a playground for short visits, a city that felt familiar but never quite home. Then life took an unexpected turn, and what was supposed to be a short three-year stay became twenty-five years. Those years were filled with stories my time at the children’s home, at the Tamil Foundation, with the ASEAN Ladies Circle and the Singapore Ladies Circle, and all the other people whose paths crossed mine. Each experience taught me something about kindness, resilience, and the different ways people live and give meaning to their lives. These are not just stories about Kuala Lumpur. They are pieces of my life the moments that made me grow, laugh, struggle, and belong in a city I once thought I would only pass through.
